light primer strikes
I have a fairly new XD40 tac. (400-500 rounds) Today at a match I had 2 light hits on a primer and 1 at the last match. The gun is stock, no trigger work. What could be causing this?

What type ammo are you shooting?
I see you are from Middle Tennessee. Come over and check out a local Tennessee site, www.tngunowners.com

Do the pencil trick.
Take a new pencil and stick the eraser end into the barrel until it stops at the striker. Holding the gun level pull the trigger. If the striker doesn't push the pencil quickly clear of the gun then you have a striker problem. It could be shavings or dirt in the striker canal. Clean it or call Springfield. Maybe they'll do a custom job for your troubles if the striker is defective.

Check the striker, striker spring, and channel going to the breach. Give them all a good cleaining . Clean out the striker saftey, push it down a few times and make sure there is no gunk build up, check the saftey leaver make sure when you pull the trigger the sear goes down and the leaver goes up.

+1 on the advice here. I started to get failure to fires and after really cleaning out the striker channel I was back to 100% reliability.

Thanks for the advice, I've already given it a good cleaning. I'm going to try to shoot some today.
