Prolly a stupid question but... Sights..
This is probably a stupid question but I have to ask..
As far as the factory sights go do you line up the three dots (up and down) and the center it right and left then place the center dot over the target? Or do you just allow the top tip of the front sight to move into the sight picture? Hope this makes sense.

The manual describes it best. If you don't have it you can download it from the SA website. ooo in the 6 o'clock POA

i have a problem using the sites on my XD. i actually have to line up all 3 dots, then raise the front dot to where the bottom of the front dot is at the top of the other dots.. did i explain that right?
this is at 7 yards (my most common practice distance). at 3 yards i have to tip it up just a hair more. at 15 yards i can leave them level for a standard six o'clock aim. my aim impoved alot though when i started shooting other peoples guns suprisingly enough. i went to the range the other day, shot the wifes m9, then my friends colt defender.45 and a bersa .380. it was awesome. i went two days later and shot my gun and found i was really shooting a hell of a lot better. cheers

I line up the sights with the front dot in the center between the rear, with the center sight at the 6:00 position, just below the center of the target. Hope this makes sense. I believe the XD's sights are "set-up" meaning using the 6:00 sight pic to shoot at 25 yards. |
