My XD-40SC rides just fine at about 5:00 with no holster. Doesn't print, doesn't fall out. Feels pretty darn comfortable.
But I'm only doing that because it's another 2-4 weeks until my Crossbreed Supertuck arrives >_<;; |

Well, yes. There is nothing protecting the trigger guard from snagging on a spare button on a shirt or a bunched up cloth or the keys in your pocket. If you want minimal IWB printing, just get a cheap uncle mike's IWB for about 15 bucks. Carrying "Mexican" has a lot of problems. Also, the gun can just fall down your pants or out of your waistband. Oops. Some kind of holster would be good.

Safer than a Glock? Yes, but not by much. Safe? No.
You would have to be carefull to 'holser' it without touching the grip safety, and hope than in the rush to draw it you don't shoot yourself. In a glock this would be suicide, I've read of enough news stories of people shooting thems selves with a glock by holstering into their pants, and having some part of their pants squeeze the trigger. I don't fault Glock, but the idiot that sent him/her self to meet St. Peter. Most of the ones I 've read about were of someone showing off.

Miguel Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9. I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster. Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR. HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle |

I often carry my XD9SC tucked in my waistband. I'm 5'9' and weigh about 190, and it conceals pretty well, even under just a loose shirt, worn just at or behind the inseam. When driving you can quickly change to "crossdraw" location without having it point at valuable equipment!
I'm not sure how you guys are built, but how does one get "keys printing through pocket" and other such devices inside the trigger guard of a pistol carried "mexican carry?" On mine the trigger guard is right under my belt/waistband. With the XDs grip safety an AD is practically impossible in this mode. The biggest problem with this carry is your activity level. If you have to run, jump, roll, chase bad guys, etc, it is not a good way to retain your firearm. If you are like me and the most activity in your daily routine while armed is walking from home to car and car to customers, it is fairly secure. If the SHTF, the pistol will be in my hand, so retention is resolved. This is nothing against holsters. I have several excellent rigs, IWB and others, that do a fine job. As a salesman, their are days I know I will be going in and out of places that restrict or prohibit CCW, so some days it is easier to go without a holster and still be able to carry when I can. Some weapons do not lend themselves to this carry, such as the fatties like a Beretta 92 or the tiny pistols like a KelTec .32. I have comfortably carried weapons ranging from a 1911 Government Model to a Kahr CW9, and even a Colt .45 SAA (with loading gate open) in this manner with no problems. |

If you want to carry in this manner use a belly band. It doesn't print and more the being stuffed down your pants, keeps the gun from falling through, and has some hint of resistance to being snatched by a BG. Works very well under sweatpants if that's what you want.
