Well I finally tried using a tweaked 40 S&W mag for 9mm. I was able to get 12 9mm in the 40 mag. I have done this with Service XD, Beretta and CZ PO1 mags but never the XD SC I just never thought about it. Another post last week made me aware it would work. All you need to do to the 40 mag is bend the lips in to match the 9mm mag ( which is slightly less than 9mm ). I bent both lips equally and it works fine the 12th round in was a little tough but this is a brand new mag and it should be fine after the spring breaks in. All 12 rounds cycle fine manually but I have not taken it to the range yet but I don't expect any problems.

Do give us a range report when you are able, I don't want my wife to trust something that might fail.

I did this a few weeks ago. It worked well at the range. I think I got maybe 13 rounds in it... really really tight with 13.

Some people get 13 but its a lil tighter then I like-I stick to 12. I got brand new mag and did this. I have had about 500 rounds threw the mag and never a probleam, I alos use it in the gun when I carry 12+1 I feel confident in it. The 9mm and 40 lips are so close I feel fine doing it, the foward most facing parts of the lips are really all that need tweacked as the back section is the same.

YEa 12 in those mags, but 13 will fit

Also you can get 17 in the 16 round mags

I do 13 rounds EVERY TIME and have not had an issue....EVER.

It works fine.

As the spring relaxes I'm sure 13 won't be a problem. The tweaking is very minor from 10mm to 9mm is all it takes.
