No flame intended, but why are you putting on adjustable sights? Is it to compensate for the point of aim (6 o'clock) versus point of aim for other pistols? Or is it to compensate for a low and left impact?

your thoughts?

Great question I have shot other guys guns that have adj sights and they shoot so good. I shoot low to the left when target shooting. When I shoot IDPA I don't have that much of a problem hitting the center. Your thoughts?

If you compete, especially if you reload, adjustable sights are the way to go. The sights will help you comensate for many factors, such at the guns natural POI, loads, etc.

All of my XDs have Dawson Adjustable Sights.

I just want the point of impact to be in the 10 ring when the front sight is covering the 10 ring. Thats how all my 1911's are setup.

Low and Left is a sign that trigger control might need some work. If it is only happening when you Target shoot then you are probably anticapating the recoil and possibly flinching, Just my 2 cents

Dawson Adjustables are great sights none the less..

That is what I want too. That is why I went with adjustables. No 6:00 hold for me.

I may have a used set for sale pretty soon. I'm thinking of going to TFOs. The sights are great but I shoot in low light conditions and I don't shoot in competition. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Thats no fair.. OS, I bet you play with all the new toys that you sell.

But I'm torn between the Dawsons or the Suresights.. just for the coolness factor. It reminds me of my old Styer

I do get to try some neats items, but for sights, I stick with what I am comforable with. I am a creature of habit, you see. Rich has been knocking me since I met him, saying I need to go with Bomars. Although Bomars are excellent, I am happy with what I have.

The Suresights are a very nice design, and like adjustable sights, they have a purpose. Although adjustable sights will work for a carry gun, they would not be my first choice.
