Slide Stuck Back...

At the range today, I took the slide off the wipe off some of the WWB residue, upon putting the slide back on, it sticks and wont' budge. The slide is stuck pretty far back, but not far enough back for the slide catch to engage. The slide will move back about 2mm but it's stuck pretty good.

What do I do with my XD45 rock?

If its the 4" service model, did you by chance put your recoil spring and guide rod assembly in backwards?

I have had issue when I shift the moving parts inside the back of the slide while cleaning.

There are some parts on the underside that can be nudged.

This causes a trigger piece to go higher and some other piece to go into a different state.

I am not sure what they are and what they do but it stops the slide from locking all the way back.

I think I stuck something in there to let the slide clear whatever was popping up and blocking it.

I'll let the guys with more info explain it I guess.

For those of you who have experienced this, when you put the slide on, do you hold the frame and slide the right way up, or upside down?

If you push the slide onto the frame while it's all upside down, would this help prevent this issue?

Hey,
Update.

KYDoc, that is exactly what happened. The feedramp on the barrel is caught in front of the slide stop. I managed to get the slide to move forward a bit but now it's really stuck and I have decided to send it back to SA for repair or whatever.

This is what I think happens, when the guide rod is not properly alinghned, it comes in contact with edge of the socket where the recoilspring is suppose to rest and frees the barrel prematurally, therefore causing the barrel to turn into a Jamming wedge.

I'll be going back to the range Friday without the XD...
