My video entry..

I was bored so I threw together this rather simple instructional video on how to field strip an XD.

http://pocketlogger.com/xd9/XDFieldStrip.mov (20mb)

Youtube version:

Feedback good or bad is always welcome as are suggestions for other videos.

Nice video. My only observation (and I'm nit picking) is during the stripping of the XD-40 subcompact you used the phrase "completely disassemble the slide" to refer to removal of the recoil spring and barrell. A complete disassembly actually involves the removal of a lot more parts and requires a punch set. Like I said, I'm nit picking!

Thanks for taking the time to put the video together. It was a lot better done than many of the gun videos I see on YouTube!

Good point. Thanks. When I started, my intent was to video fully disassembly of the slide, I even recorded how to remove the locking backplate and the cocked indicator when it dawned on me that I forgot I needed to punch out the roll pin to remove the firing pin. I didn't have time for that so I just did the field strip.

I guess thats the next video..

Thanks again for the feedback.

I've been looking for a simple video like this for sometime now. I am planning on buying a Service model next month and it will be my first handgun purchase.

Thanks for taking the time and posting this for us all to use as a reference.

BTW this is post 100 for me.

Great video. I believe this will be very useful for people new to firearms.

And, I never knew the Tactical model had a 'loose' spring...Learn something new everyday, eh?
