Ported Tactical XD45? 10mm? M&P .45?

I'm a die hard Glocker, but recently have been contemplating an XD45 Tactical purchase. Are there any plans for a ported .45 Tactical? I searched a few threads but found only somewhat outdated postings on this matter. Any info would be appreciated.

Also, as an avid 10mm enthusiast, does SA plan on ever releasing a 10mm version of the XD? I love my Glock 20's in 10mm, but it pains me that there are no other choices for 10mm lovers like me. (I mean that there are no other supremely reliable, polymer framed 10mm's---not no other 10mm's in general.) If SA made a 10mm XD, I'd be at the gunstore in a heartbeat.

I'm itching to buy something new. My other consideration has been the .45 S&W M&P pistol that is due to be released in the next month or so. Anyone here with any M&P experience vs. XD and/or Glock? I haven't shot an M&P at all, let alone the not-yet-released .45 version.

For what it is worth... I was all Glock until i got my XD .40 now I like both equally well. I am going to get an XD tactical also as I think it would make a great comp gun. Which one.. well now there is the rub... I think XD with its hefty slide would make a nice 10mm - as I bet the .357 is.

For me though I am trying to decide between .40 .45 and if I consider reloading again, the gap...

I don't think there are plans for ported 45, or 10mm, but there has been a lot of noisy postings about 10mm, maybe we can cajole SA into making it.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

Back in August, Gun Tests did a comparison between the .45 service XD and the .40 M&P. They rated the M&P a "conditional buy" based on poor accuracy and the lack of a thumb or grip safety. They rated the XD as a "best buy". Since this publication does not take any advertising and their reviews are based strictly on performance, I usually trust what they have to say. I shot an M&P last month. that my shooting buddy got from his son. It felt nice, low recoil, easy on the hands - but the accuracy sucked at anything beyond 10 yards (and I shoot the standard police course in the 98% range, so it ain't the shooter! ) . Since I use an XD, the lack of a thumb safety didn't distract me, but I missed the grip safety. I sure wouldn't carry this pistol in anything less than an level 3 retention holster on duty.....

Thanks for the input, guys. I love the XD45 Tactical. For some strange reason Glock loves to disregard any input from their customer base and absolutely refuses to manufacture any type of long slide .45 or 10mm. So for power freaks like me, I'm screwed if I want a long slide Glock in anything other than 9mm (groan!) or .40 (slightly smaller groan!). But I guess that's why God created the Springfield Armory and the XD Tactical!

I'm curious as to why Gun Tests rated the M&P as such an inaccurate pistol. I've looked at the guns and they seem well engineered and well manufactured. I can't see why there would be any problems with accuracy. I'm not doubting the data necessarily, I'd still just like to try one myself.

If we could cajole Springfield into making a 10mm, there would be some happy campers (myself included!) out there. The 10mm is the "King of Kings" in my opinion. Those that don't realize it's beauty are really missing out.
