Do the Bi-Tone's have any finish on them at all besides the Stainless Steel?

And if so.... An 05 Bi Tone wouldnt have melonite on it would it?

Not sure about an 05 model but I emailed SA a couple of weeks ago and Deb replied saying that all XDs have the melonite finish on them now.

Melonite will make the steel black, I do believe.

Depends upon which Melonite process they use. Some can be applied over stainless, some can't. Some of the Melonite processes leave a black finish, others are clear.

I think SA would know what's being done to the XD's. If Deb said that melonite is applied to the bi-tone then I am going to run with it. If I find out later on that this is in fact not true and I already have a bi-tone I have that email saved and will expect a refund. Gotta love gmail for all the space you have to save every email with.

No, Deb said the bi-tones were stainless from the link above. And Tom said the same thing when I emailed him to get confirmation that the stainless was stainless during one of the other hundred melonite threads. Let's make this so much harder than it is. And start new threads with searching old ones.
