Ne1 pay SA to refinish your slide?

If so, PM me how much it cost so I have an Idea.... (easier than having to call them and deal with all of that mess)

P.S,
Will SA refinish my slide for free since it is Pre-Melonite ?

Hi there. No need to call - just check out their XD Custom Shop worksheet here. I had my bi-tone finished in Black-T. Last I heard, they'll finish your slide in Armory Kote if yours is having serious rust problems on a pre-Melonite gun.

Date of manufacture. sometime pre mid-2006 was the change over.. I can't recall exactly when. Someone should chime in soon.

Why would I want to pay SA to refinish my slide when they could'nt get it right the first time??? There are better companies that can do just as good or better and you will get your gun back within about 2 weeks. Instead of 6 weeks. My thought on this is I paid 450.00 for a firearm and if the fisnish is subpar there is no way in heck I am gonna give you more money to try again.

Now on the other side. My XD has a few thousand rounds through and has not once ever hiccuped, I would rather have a gun that shoots flawlessly and may need a little more care to protect the finish from the possibility of rust, Than have one that has an occasonial FTF, FTE or whatever.

OHH yea one other question, How come this finish on my HS2000 is still after all these years immaculant and my HS95 has a few wear marks, But neiter of those two have showed signs of rust but my XD as well as others have??? Are they not the same finish???Except, maybe the HS95???

xd4life said it all. $95 and 10 days to Tripp for a better finish than I got from SA.
