My wife and son got this (belatedly) for me for Christmas:

...The service 4" in flat dark earth. The pictures are 'borrowed' from the Springfield web site, so it's not my serial number but is otherwise exactly the same as mine.

Wow! 14 rounds of .45 ACP firepower in one load!

Got it on Wednesday NEW from Cabela's in Owatonna, MN for $367.40 +tx after 'working the system' by using a $20 off coupon for any purchase over $100 until Jan 8; plus I signed up for a Cabela's Visa card which got me another $45 off due to a holiday promotion for that; then the gun was on sale for $70 off the Cabela's normal price of $499 99 (MSRP is $559.00 for this model). So I got a total of $135 off the standard Cabela's price for my wife & son! (If you're working the math, the reason it doesn't come out exactly to $135 off is because they charged the full sales tax on the $429.99 sale price before subtracting the discounts.)

BTW. My son and I took it to the range Friday and shot 200 rounds of my .45 reloads out of it with NO failures to feed or eject whatsoever. Not bad for a brand new gun!

Yeah my grandfather got the same one for christnmas just the Tactical. Its great isn't it? I thought it was gonna recoil 5x as much as it did but, it was very enjoyable to shoot, also the double taps weren't to bad on it.

how does some one buy you a gun?

Don't you have to do all the paper work and wait the 10 days?

I have always wonder about this, cause I want to buy my dad and brother and xd.

I bought it and did the paperwork and NICS for myself. My wife and son merely said they'd pay for it.

No 10 day wait in MN, especially when you have a carry permit as I do.

It is totaly legal to buy the gun yourself and then gift it to anyone who is not restricted from owning one. You cannot buy a gun with the intention to sell to another person, you can sell a gun but cant buy one just to sell it.
