XD-40 sub-compact carry options
Today, I ordered a Super Tuck holster from Cross Breed Holsters. I got to thinking since I wear a lot of sweat pants in the winter and drawstring type shorts in the summer, what other options do I have as far as a holster when you're wearing this type of clothing or not wearing a belt. Any ideas?

I "had to" change how I dressed accordingly if I knew I was carrying. Draw string shorts and sweats, I don't see alot of options unless your shorts have pockets but the XD-40sc is somewhat heavy for that type of concealment. In the summer I wear Blue Jean cutoffs or dress type shorts with the front pockets with a belt and a loose fitting shirt and haven't been made by someone yet. I also use the Supertuck Crossbreed Holster. Sorry If this wasn't of much help but I really don't see alot of options other than changing dressing habits.
On the otherhand come to think of it. They do make fanny packs that either carry on the back or your side and have a hidden pocket inside to hide the gun incase you want to access other valuables without showing the gun. personally I could never get used to one because I tried it but some people really seem to like them. Here are a few options
- Wear different clothes that would support a real belt and holster - Something like a smartcarry holster (I haven't tried this and don't think I would like it) - Carry something else like a Kel-Tec P-3AT in your pocket.

Please consider the 'belly band'. Made
of the same material that the medical 'rib cage band' is made of. The latter is the prescribed method to aid in the healing process when you get broken ribs. The wider the band, the better the comfort level and snugish of fit to the body. Ed |

Check out this one. I never try it, but it might fit your need.

I use an Uncle Mikes IWB # 15 for my XD9SC and it works great while wearing sweats or windpants that have a drawstring. No sagging in the pants and the holster will not come out when the pistol is drawn. Very comfortable. Great holster for when you don't feel like wearing jeans and a belt.

Sounds stupid but my son wears a belt under his sweats for his holster.
