As I look over the internet for XD deals - some guns are listed as "2006 packaging". What is the difference between 2006 packaging, and the earlier packaging?

It comes with the new finish on the slide, double mag holder, holster, and the mag loader.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the brush you are refferring to is actually a mag well brush.

I haven't even looked closely at the brush that came with my Xd-9sc. I already had a cleaning kit, and the subcompact's mag well is short enough and easy to clean without a brush as long as you do it regularly.

help a new guy out...what's a Mag well brush? Is this simply a barrel cleaning brush or something else? If it for cleaning do you suggest using this or switch to a better one?

The brush that comes in the kit is a nylon bore brush. A brush should not be required to clean the magwell and if it was, it would be square.

06 Package comes with the new Melonite Finish and the XD Gear (Holster, Mag Loader & Mag Holder (holds 2 clips)

05 Package comes with 3 Magazines... Atleast this 2005 Bi Tone that Im looking at comes with 3 High Cap. Mags and thats about it.

Thanks guys. As it turns out a local Cabelas had a '06 XD9 SC. I was able to use a $50 coupon on the purchase, so I picked that up today. So I guess my search is done for now. Until the stores start getting in the new XD45 Compact. YEE HAAA!
