hello, big newb here.

i've called around to check prices, but im wondering what you guys paid and what you got with it.

also, is melonite(sp?) standard on currently produced XDs?

and finally what, if any, are the "options" besides color and size?

i did a search but did see anything similar. sorry if this has been asked recently.

Yes, but bear in mind that some dealers may still have old stock. Check the date on the test cartridge in the package...if it is after April '06, yer golden. If not, prolly not.

i put a deposit on a xd9 tac for $489 plus DROS and TAX. i forget what the total cost was. I haven't picked it up since i decided to more priority on my 1911's. I've seen it as cheap as $469 on sale.

$418.99 locally w/ 3 mags (new). Found out the week after that I could have gotten it for $390 at a new place trying to drum up business from LEOs (friend of mine is, I'm still in school for it). Either way I was happy. Otherwise, local prices are $469-519 at gun stores and $509-589 at pawn shops (new though).

Only options I can think of would be sights and it seems like there is a package with the tac light.
