My first two were XD-9s. But for my .45 I ended up with a Kimber Stainless II. Dare I say that my next purchase will also be a 1911 (maybe a 4" Tactical Custom II or S&W PD). The XD fits my hand nicely, but the 1911 is better for me. In the end, it depends what you're trying to get out of it.

Just for fun.

I don't have my CCW. If I did, I would definately be buying the XD. More rounds, plain and simple. If I do get the 1911 it would be used in IDPA, shooting trips to Mojave, and home defense (depending on which gun I put my hand on first when I heard the BG.) I just figured, if I am always shooting the same thing my skills would level off. If I am stretching them a bit with something different and new challenges, I will get better.
