How can I know what year is my XD?
I bought it used and I want to install the extended magazine release, but they say that it does not fit for xd before may'05. Anyone know?

post your serial # like this US9810XX...and someone might be able to help you.
Otherwise, email it to Springfield and they can tell you for sure when it was made.

You got a spent case with your XD read the date on the envelope. The first # is the day not the month

call or email springfield with the serial # and they can tell you when it was made.

take a look inside the frame and you'll see a date cast into the plastic underneath the slide lock. It will tell you the month and year that your frame was cast.

Damn...I'm glad I read this thread...
I was under the impression that the date on the spent shell envelope was m/d/y... Ya mean it's d/m/y? Mine says 02/06/06...so June 2, 2006? Randy
