My role as Forum Moderator: Defined - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

To be clear, I want people to understand my role/power as moderator and what I was asked to do when I agreed to the role.

1. Kermee asked me to moderate this forum, making sure that threads were in the spirit and best interest of XDTalk. In some cases, I need to lock and/or delete threads. After doing this, some PM saying I am too strict while others send me messages saying thank you. The mix of PMs are even, so no harm nor foul there.

2. As a Moderator, I DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO BAN ANYONE. What I do have the power to do is delete posts, lock posts, move posts. In the past, when I felt there was a TROLL among us, I sent Kermee a message asking him to investigate the individual.

3. I am a member of this forum before I am a Moderator. I enjoy spending time here and not a minute goes by when I don't laugh. In some instance, I even cry, and that is a good thing. The day I have nothing to learn here is the day I will move on. Because I learn something new each day, I suspect I will be here for as long as this forum exists.

In closing, please don't question this forum or your membership because an individual upsets you. I will do what I can to ease your pain, and I ask you to be patient, knowing this situation, and others like it, will correct itself.

I don't know if this is the route to take, but other forums have ignore user functions (and it looks like this one could too).

I support the right for people to have the right to speak, but I also believe that I (and others) should have the choice not to be forced to listen. The issue is a two way street, and the freedom of speech side always seems to get the most attention.

Leaving this board would be foolish for good, contributing members, but that's what it may come to eventually as these events come up more frequently due to the popularity of the XD. Banning members never works, and often causes more problems than it's worth (believe me as a fellow Mod/Forum Admin).
