Well, just got off the phone with Mark at SA. I sent my XD40 service in last month for a cracked lock block. They replaced the part and (as an added bonus) replace the slide lock sping. Got it back within a few days (it's a duty pistol) and they even refunded my shipping. Great (so far)
I took it out to the range a few days after I got it back. Fired better than 150 ronds through it in the standard police course (3 yds, 7 yds, 10 yds, 15 yds, 25 yds). At the 3 and 7 yd mark, everything seemed normal - shots were registering within the body mass of a B-36 target. At 10 yds, shots started to drift low/left. At 15 yds, shots were clearly low/left. At 25 yds, shots were off the paper - low/left. Changed the OEM spring to a DRG w/#22 - same results. Put in a #20 spring - same result. Back to the OEM spring. Tried adjusting the Trijicon from site - no luck (tight as a knats a*s!!). Back to the range - fired another 100 rounds. Same results - at anything beyond 7 yds, shots are low/left. Went out with an instructor today, to check my stance/grip. He couldn't spot anything different or incorrect. Said I was holding pretty much like the last time we went out in April and May (last time I went through qualification with this pistol, I shot 98 and 97 over the same course of fire). I tried his S&W 45 from a cover position at 25 yds, using the same grip I use on my XD. Blew the middle of the body mass out of the target with 2 mags of his Blazer practice ammo. Mark of SA said he's never heard of this and asked me to send it back so they can check it out. I notice that, when unloaded and with the slide at battery, the crown of the barrel seems to be sitting low/left in the slide. I never really looked at like this before I sent the pistol in for the cracked locking block, but that's what it looks like now. Oh, well, back to carrying that old Taurus 9 until this one gets back.....

Has someone other then you shot the XD? If not let someone else give it a go. I was shooting my XD-45 Service low left and this Marine trainer was shootingnext to me. I let him shoot my XD and he drilled a nice tight group in the center.
If you have not watched the Todd Jarret video do so. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...psc&pr=goog-sl |

I watched his video - in fact this is the way we're initially taught and refreshed every year. As I said, I shot 98+ over the standard police qualification run in May with this pistol - everything from 10 shot in 6 second with a mag change from 3 yrds, out to 10 shot no time limit at 25 yrds. I don't know at this point - maybe it is me and something with the grip/stance, but I know I nailed all of my shots with his S&W 45 using the same grip/stance I've used with my 40. Either way, it's on it's way back to SA tomorrow (didn't want to ship it on a Friday and have it sit over the weekend - plus not sure if they're open for Columbus Day on Monday). I'll let you know what I find out after Mark in repair has a chance to look at it.
