this is a repost on polishing but i need an awnser quick sorry

MAN!!! i am seriously thinking of doing it too now!
and i was thinking it with the heavy metal polish aproach
but the only thing that restrain me from doing that is the rust problem
i am think about it Springfield did put that coating on for some reason... and i actualy see ppl complaining that Springfield will not reaply whatever that melonite thingy on ur gun due to some environmental hippy crap issue
Springfield will just "paint-up" ur gun if u send it back
my point is that i will be taking some "risk" taking that coating off, but that is not the main issue
how much maintenance is maintenace to keep the rust out?
i mean its a gun not my baby, lets keep that straight but polish part do look nice
here is what i do with the gun, usualy fire it at least once or twice a month i do take it apart each time and take the time to clean and oil it, will this me sufissant? or if i leave it 1 month + withount touching it rush will show up?
here is one last thing is there a product that will just keep the dam rust out, i mean if i decide to leave my gun for an extanded period of time without touching it

thanks ppl
