A Surprising Secret

How does a Blue Angels video relate to a lesson on shooting?
If you check it out you'll see - it really does.

i just saw them perform last weekend, and it was cloudy and windy so the show was low. next day was a beautiful day and nobody wanted to freakin go with me and I didn't feel like sitting at an airshow all day by myself. now after watching the vid, it just reminds me that I wish I had just gone! whaaaaaaaaaa

Let's ask the wide body of experience on this forum. Brian Enos's book is a great start. I'll add my 2 cents later.

I will try to be in Charlie's group at my next shoot and ask him for help.

I will take the CCW course soon - I hope.

No G-Suit Due to Center Stick

The Angels don't fly with G-Suits because with having a center stick on the Hornet, if you're resting your flying wrist and forearm on the top of your thigh, when the G-Suit inflates it changes the back stick pressure on the stick. It's tough to be smooth if flying that way (which everyone does) with the pressure in the G-Suit changing.

That's one of the nice features of the Viper (F-16) which employs a side stick. Doesn't matter what the G-Suit is doing, only what you're doing to the stick yourself. If I remember the specs right, full pitch travel from neutral is 1/2" and roll is 1/4". Auto trim to 1G, good flying qualities.

My background - 4000 hours in civil and mil aircraft including fighters. Test pilot, flown 50+ different types of aircraft.

Hmmm. Isn't that exactly what I said in the post? Well, glad to have some back-up on that.

What do you know? There is such a thing as an old, bold pilot.
