SA's new font??
I was just curious what everyone thought of Springfield's "new" spaceage font they use for their name on the new EMP? It's a definite detour from their traditional lettering.
![]() (cropped from slide) Here's the original file from SA's website (just reduced in size): ![]() (reduced 50% from original file) I wonder if all their new guns will use this font, or just the EMP line? I thought it looked cool at first glance, but looking at it closer makes me change my mind. SA is a very established company. I believe they should stick to their traditional lettering styles on all their firearms. It's a standard like the logo. Their corporate identity. Why change it?? Sure, use the "new" font for the letters "EMP," but NOT the traditional "Springfield Armory" name on the slide!!

It is next generation lettering for a next generation pistol. That said, being Old School, I do prefer the traditional font type.
