The wait...
Well, finally decided to go for a .45ACP Tactical for my handgun. So I went to the local gun shop yesterday to see if they had one. They had a .45ACP Service and a XD9SC. Both were beauties, but I had my heart set on a Tac for .45 or at least a 9. This is Texas, I thought XDs should be in giant pyramid displays and in vast quantities. These these are selling out (in Austin liberal-land no less). Gun shop guy said he'd call his dealer network and wholesalers to find a Tac for me.
Gun shop guy calls me this afternoon and said he went through 5-6 places but found a .45ACP Tac for me. Bad news, it is a Kommiefornia version, with 10-round mags instead of high-cap. I said to go for it anyway, I'll trade/sell the mags for more high caps. You can never have enough mags anyway, right? The gun is on its way and should be here early next week. Very excited!! Now I just got to wait. Very pleased with the local gun shop so far as a first time buyer. Very nice folk, did the chit-chat, and went the distance to make a customer happy. |

I use 10 round mags at the range most of the time and leave my hi caps for JHP carry ammo

I'm in CA and my dealer can't get a 10 rd version. If you can find out where he got it I'd love to know. (I'd like to trade, my dealer can get 13 rounders, but no 10's, but we can't ship the 13's to CA. Go figure.)

It's hard to believe none of the Academy, Cabela's, or Bass Pro shops had them. My dealer has two.

Here in beautiful Tennessee the .45 Tacs aren't the hard ones to find; it's the 9mm sub-compacts! Nobody around here can seem to get them.

the .45 tac is easy to find, the CA legal mags are the hard part.
