Conversion barrel--bad fit, need HELP. Updated with PICs

I finally got my conversion barrel direct from EFK (took a while, lost the order, had to cut a tactical down to 4"). Looks purty, but bad fit! I know they sometimes require minor fitting, but the biggest part that worries me is where the feed ramp lines up. The stock .40 barrel lines up with the little divot in the frame perfectly. The new conversion barrel's feedramp sits a good 1-1.5mm ahead of the divot. Anybody else see this?

I took a 10rd .40 mag and bent the feed lips in. Rounds cycled in and out ok until the last--didn't eject well. Anybody seen that?

Help! Advice! I've got 200 rounds of 9mm that wanna get shot up, but I don't wanna do it if it's gonna hurt my slide and screw up my .40 barrel fit.

Send a message via AIM to stealthsniper
That certainly doesn't sound right. Given the problems that you've had already, I would contact EFK Firedragon or the vendor from whom you purchased and ask for an advance replacement. If they're concerned about getting their defective product back, allow them to put a hold charge on your credit card until it's returned. I've done just this with much more expensive items ($1,500 ECU) and it's always worked out well.

Give Frank at EFK a call, telling him that the barrel you have won't fit. If Frank's help doesn't fix the problem, you can send them the barrel and your slide, and they will fit it for you, at no additional cost.

In many cases, it is the length of the two "teeth" that surround the loaded chamber indicator that are the problem.

Hope this helps. I am sure Frank can offer a bit more.

Regards,
Old School

thanks guys--I took digital pics and emailed them with an explanation to Frank. Hopefully it'll get taken care of soon. I'd put the pics in here but don't have anyplace to host them.

For some reason I am not able to see your pictures but here is a thread on my conversion barrel. I had to do some fitting on it. Maybe the pictures will help you. I have only fired about 60 round through it but everything works 100% so far.....

PM me with an email address and I'll send you the picture directly. Is there a gap between your barrel feed ramp and the "feed ramp notch" inside the frame?
