Long Wait?
After much research, including reading the posts here for a couple of months, and renting a lot of weapons, I went to my local gun shop and put down a deposit on an XD 40 Service model with the special magazine/holster promotional package.
That was 5 weeks ago...still no gun, and the dealer is not able to give me an ETA. Is it normal to wait this long, or has somebody let me down? I'm dealing with a large gunshop with a pretty good reputation in town. Maybe I'm just WAY too anxious to get my hands on my first handgun?

It only took 3 days to get mine after my dealer ordered it.

seems a tad excessive for that model. Seems like he goes through a supplier for the best price and they are allocated there. I would go in nicely and ask him what the deal is, and if he can't get it soon, request nicely the deposit back
