Recommendations on a small cheap safe/vault
I only have 4 pistols but may get a few more and am curious what safe or vault you guys use to store your pistols? im not looking to spend $1000 but rather the $50-$200 range if possible. Is there anyone out there that has hands on experience with a cheaper safe you would you recommend to a guy like myself?
Few things I prefer.. -Cheap -Practical -fire resistant -holds 5-10 pistols -can bolt to the floor

Go take a look at the smaller ones over at Sportsmans. I think the StackOn's are about that price.

Check them out at your local Wally World. They'll handle you handguns and rifles as well at about the price you're looking to spend.

picked up a small keypad/keylock one from BJ's for like $89, its a sentry, inexpensive and small, could hold a few pistols plus documents.

Those small sentry ones are the only ones in that price range I've seen that are fire resistant. The cheaper stack-on cabinets are not fire rated, only their safes are, and those are generally in the $400-700 price range.

I picked up a decent-sized lockbox with a keypad on it from WallyWorld for about $20. Sure, it could be busted open if someone really wanted to and had the right tools; but it does keep my two kids safe from my three handguns (XD-45 ACP 4", Colt .357 Magnum and Taurus .38 Special) and allows me quick access to them if needed. These are found in the stationary section of the store, not the area where they sell the hunting and fishing stuff. Of course they also have safes there as well.
Hope that helps! Cheers! M2 |

I have a Sentry Safe from Wally world that I use to keep my important documents in, it's fire safe and cheap.
I think they offer a bunch of different sizes that would probably accomodate your guns. bd |

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but I'm real happy with my Gun Vault. Well-built, strong, secure, with a keypad you can operate easily in the dark, and a security cable so you can lock it to something. It is not fire-resistant, but personally I don't believe in fire-resistant safes...I call 'em "camp stoves". I have the Mini, which could handle two guns, max; but the Multi should be able to swallow four pretty good, unless you incline toward hand cannons. You can buy 'em off the company's web site, but I bought mine at Sportsman's Warehouse ($89 for the Mini) for about half what they're going for on the web.

I personally use a Brinks key-pad type of box that I got at (of all places) Pep Boys for 20 bucks. It works really good but I came across this one and I just might upgrade:
