This is why I don't keep a loaded gun in my house
I was field stripping my 45 to clean it. I unlocked the slide, closed the slide, pulled the trigger. Bang. I keep a loaded mag just in case, and I forgot it was in there. The bullet went through my wood panels on my window, about 4 inches of wood, and lodged inside the glass. I felt it was my duty to tell you guys because I am very anal about gun safety and I'm not dumb, and I had an AD. Please be careful.

Must have scared the hell out of you.
I can think of a few things you did that I don't do when I'm cleaning my gun. Still, I do appreciate the reminder, so thanks for posting. |

When I got home I put the gun away with the mag loaded with no round in the chamber. Remembered that I needed to clean it, and this happened. Yes it scared the hell out of me, and my poor cat. Not to mention the cost of the window. I thank god I was at least following the safety rules, or the window could have been my leg, or worse.

I'm still shook up by this. I don't think I'll be shooting for a while. I locked my pistols up and I don't want anything to do with them.

Well, they say, if you get thrown off the horse, get right back on him as soon as you can!

Glad nobody got hurt. You changed your shorts yet?
