Custom Shop XD's...

I was just wondering if any bought one brand new through the custom shop or had one that you bought and sent in? What are your opinions rather having done it? Do you have a regural XD to compare your custom to?

Anyone considering sending in there XD to the custom shop?

Your reasons for or againts?

You will get quicker results from Canyon Creek. I don't have any first hand experience with them but have heard only positive things about them. I plan on sending my Tactical slide to have Dawson adjustable sights put on.

He has a price list for just about everything. The only down side is you probably have to buy all the aftermarket parts (sights, barrels, etc.) and then send them with the gun to him whereas Springfield would handle everything.

I call in November... Still don't have a catalog or pricing...
Also nice to see the wait time drop alittle, I believe it was about 8 months last I spoke to them.

My XD9 tac should be arriving at Canyon Creek next week. Rich didn't give a for sure turn around time, but from what everyone else has said I am expecting around 2 weeks. Rich can do pretty much everything that the custom shop can do except the custom frame.

I too feel Canyon Creek is the best way to go. Buy your goodies from Scott at http://www.pistol-gear.com/, and have him drop ship them to CC. That's what I'm planning to do.
