Got to shoot my new XD40!
Oh, My God, where has this thing been all my life!!!!! I just can't tell you how nice this thing felt to shoot!! We shot almost a full 100 RD and still wanted more. My old 38 got maybe 10 rounds through it and put away because it was boring!
Now to some good stuff. We had a Kimber Ultra II with us to compare it too, granted, I am very biased but I liked my cheap little plastic gun better than that super expensive 1911!! Recoil on the XD was way more manageable, granted, it is a smaller round, but it was still easier to come back on target with the XD. The slide release is in a MUCH better spot on the XD. I could reach right up and drop it where the Kimber was almost a 2 handed job. Grips, I really liked the feal of the XD. The Kimber grips were a bit abrassive on my hand and a little big. I was very suprised by how chepa looking the mags were on the 45! The XD mags are very well built. It might just be perception, but Oh, well haha! Chris |

Sound like another happy camper! Glad you enjoyed the XD. If you're like most of us, you'll eventually end up with atleast one 1911 style pistol on the shelf.

It's a 20 minute drive out to the Pyramid range.
I don't consider that too far. BTW, it was awesome out there, today.
