Talking Finally "pulled the trigger"! XD 45ACP Bi-tone

After much contemplation and prodding by my good buddy.....(Warning: redneck joke coming) we stopped into Champion Firearms in College Station, TX on the way to a wedding (seriously) and I picked up this beauty!

I can't wait get out and get some rounds through it, thanks for all the reviews and informative posts here, it really helped. Well maybe not as much as CaseyChaos' pushing!!

Well, it wouldve been more of a redneck joke if you had used it to kill time at the reception, gathered up the groom and best man,..went out back and shot beer cans

Nicely played, Aggiebowman. As soon as I get my service back from the GunKoat guy, we'll have to go bust a few off. That's a great looking gun. Makes me wish I had waited until the Bi-tones were available.

For anyone that cares, Champion Firearms is a great little shop with excellent prices. I believe the price tag on Aggiebowman's heater was $495. Friendly folks working there simply enhanced the experience.

I've been thinking about making mine a bitone (removing the bluing as some others on here have done), but it is still scary to me. I'm still working up to polishing the barrel... Some day. I surely can't afford to buy a whole nother gun.

Like Casey said, stop in and look around Champion if you have the time. They had 2 XD45 5" Bitone's come in. 1 was one I had ordered back in January and the 2nd sold in no time. Their price for the 2nd was the same as what they had charged me in Jan.- $530.00+tax (right at $574.00 total). With the way these things were flying off the shelves (if they made it that far) you would have thought there would have been a price increase. Their price on the XD45 5" black was only $515.00+tax. I recently received my FFL 01 and although I can't tell you what my dealer cost on these guns would be, I can tell you that the folks at Champion are making very little at these prices and are giving their customers a heckuva deal. They are also extremely friendly, helpful, and good to deal with. Again, if you have a chance, stop in and say hello.
