First "detailed" strip

For the first 450 rounds, I had field stripped the 40sc for cleaning. After the last range trip (another 100 rounds), I attempted my first detail strip of the frame for cleaning. I followed the directions here http://www.xd-hs2000.com/disassembly/disassembly.html.

Not that difficult, but I did note a couple of things:

1) I could not rotate the disassembly lever to the 2'o clock position, and it never "popped out." Had to apply a slight bit of pressure to the lever with a punch (just manually pushing it) to get the lever to move.

2) The slide stop lever spring was different in my 40sc. Not sure if this is just because it's an sc versus svc/tac, but it might be. I just bought this pistol a couple months ago, and I'm assuming I got the latest design (package came w/ holster, 2 mag pouch, 9 and 12 rds mags, speed loader).

I didn't attempt to remove the ejector or grip safety from the frame as this was my first attempt at disassembly. Didn't want to press my luck on the first time out.

I have always found the grip safety was a major pain in the ass to put back in. Have you detail stripped/cleaned your slide yet?

Not yet. Will probably attempt that later. I need to pick up some smaller diameter punches before I go any further.
