Beretta mags for XD?
Can you use them?
At ipsc yesterday a shooter told me that, after cutting a new notch in the mag, you could use the Beretta hi caps for the xd 9mm. Any verification on this? Thanks, mcgraw |

It is true and was a good idea when the AWB was in place. Today, I don't feel it is worth the time and effort unless you have time a bunch of mags sitting around.

i wouldn't mind doing that if that means I have a reliable high capacity magazine! My pro-mag 32rnd is off and on.

As it happens i have a ton of beretta mags sitting around and i would like to cut out the notch. I am nervous however and was wondering if anyone knew of a website that layed out tools and steps, or exact measurements. I also hear that if you convert a beretta mag you can not "slam" a mag in for fear it would go too far into the breach and damage the pistol.
Does anyone have suggestions for how to get that half circle shape. I was thinking drill press and then dremel. ????? on the flip side, if anyone knows where i could trade a couple of 96 mags for an xd mag that would be cool too.

basically just line it up with one of your actual xd mags. Like the prevois poster said its actually a waste of time and money unless you have a some just laying around. I bought one ack dting the AWB off gunbroker and it would not lock the slide back after the last round when I hand cycled it. The magazine follower does not sit the same and because of this it more then likely wont lock the slide back. Since it would not do it when hand cycling I doubt it will work if actually shooting it So I sent it back (seller was offering a money back guarantee). Just FYi
