Anyone modify 1 notch light rail to 2 notch rail???
Okay just got a tac light for my xd. I like the light and even on the tac or service it is still reachable (old model frame with one notch rail). I would like for it to fit closer to the triger guard. If I understand it the newer frames have two notches for larger and smaller lights.
I was wondering if anyone has modified there frame by placing a notch in the frame where the light would fit closer to the trigger guard. I understand that the Serial Number is there just curious if anyone has done this or tried it. Thanks

There's no way to do it, as the serial # is in the way and you would have to destroy that to make it work. They moved the serial # tab on the 2 notch to allow room for the 2nd notch.

thats what I figured but had to ask. What about just notching the area beside the serial # and not messing with the #. This could mean that the serial # could fall off or something to that nature or you may have to modify the light to work with that. Just curious. Hell even when I slide the light all the way back it is tight and I dont think it is going to move unless I actually catch it on something. I will have to fire it to find out for sure.
