Failure to feed? Need input!

In the first 400 rounds I had one magazine fail to feed the last round twice. Today I put 100 rounds through it and the same mag did the same thing twice. Once the slide stayed back like on last round, only left the last round in the mag. Second time it partially fed the round, but the slide would not go all the way forward. Then the other mag twice failed to feed with three rounds in it each time. I am going to take the mags apart tonight, clean and oil. Any suggestions or has anyone had similar problems?

PS this XD 357 was bought used and had been fired enough to start wearing the finish off of the breech.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a magazine problem to me. You didn't say anything about a conversion, but I first thought it sounded like the lips might have been tweaked to fire 9mm through them. Let us know if there's any difference after a good cleaning.

No conversion, but the magazines both had a lot of brass shavings in them. So a good cleaning was neccessary! I'll see next trip to the range
