We do have plans for the XD, it's our next project. Look for it to come out sometime early next year.

Regards,

Advantage Arms
Here is a pic of their current Glock conversion.

Sweet!

Too bad the magazines are $25 each.

After a few hundred rounds of ammo, you are ahead of the game

I talked with them at SHOT. At the time they had no interest. Perhaps, like others, they are finally waking up. I am sure they will announce it at SHOT 2007.

Ya that is kind of what I was thinking too Scott I am sure they will release it at the SHOT show. THey must have gotten a ton of emails asking about the conversion.

If I could shoot .22 LR for practice I would save HUGE MONEY!!! I am shooting around 1K per month of 9mm which really starts to add up if you do the math. I will be able to pay for the thing in two months. If it was as much as a whole new XD I would still buy one!

I hope they increase their manufacturing capability.

Right now on their web site they say they aren't taking new Glock conversion kit orders until the catch up with the backlog.

If they are like most companies, the orders they get at SHOT will carry them for the next 12 months.

I hope that they make one for the SC as well as the Service model.

Unfortunately, I don't forsee them making more than a 4" version unless they retro fit it somehow to a 3" frame as well.

I love my Mark III 22/45 since its got the same grip angle but this would still be wonderful sight picture practice. Long range steel would allow you to follow through and watch the sights quite a bit better than shooting centerfire.

The first time I shot a 19 with one of their uppers, I was amazed at what I was doing wrong with my grip when firing and not following through.

Great News

This is FANTASTIC news! Using a .22 LR slide to do part of your training can cure so many mistakes! I have used their conversions with the Glock 17, it wooks well but it is ammunition sensitive. If I remember correctly, CCI Stingers didn't work well, but Remington was fairly reliable. With the CCI expect 2 or 3 jams per magazine. With the Remington, 1 jam every few magazines. Of course this conversion is specifically FOR TRAINING, so it never hurts to practice your immediate action drills too!

Man, I can't wait! I would love to have one of these for range trips. Start out by shooting a brick of 22lr for cheap. Then fire a hundred or two of the normal caliber to end the day.
