Been carrying XD40 Concealed for a while
Howdy all-
An update from a previous post. I've been carrying my XD40 service in a Don Hume 715M IWB holster for a while. Have driven, walked, and basically done everything I do on a normal basis while carrying. I've found I'm checking to ensure my shirt covers the holster when I get out of a car or stand up, but for the most part, I'm not too incredibly anxious. Driving with this thing is a bit more uncomfortable than I had expected, but I've found a position that works ok for me. I'm thinking I'll be getting a CTAC or something that I can set and forget. I find myself re-adjusting the 715M every so often. Forward cant seems to work best for me. The only people that know I've been carrying are my lady friend, when she puts her arms around my waist, and those who I inform, which are few. I could get used to carrying concealed. Its a keeper. |

I have a CTAC, and it's awesome. When I'm driving, however, I keep my gun out of the holster for quicker access. I don't drive with it much, so I really don't have input there. Other than that...I love the thing.

Actually, I've been considering modding the XD gear holster that came with my package to install in my car somewhere.

You know, that's the best idea I've heard yet for that junky little holster! I think I'll do that when I get a new car. I'll let ya know what I do to it.

Mounting in a vehicle. = use a 1.5"-2" stainless steel strap as a belt and bolt it through whatever you're mounting it too. It's not hard.
