FIRING PIN SPRING GUIDE
Well i guess i finally did it!! I was cleaning my xd-9 service after a fun filled day of shooting and lost the FIRING PIN SPRING GUIDE. Wow that little bugger flew. i found the spring but lost the plastic piece.
Does anybody know where to get one or am i out of luck and have to call springfield on monday? or do i have to ask if i can buy one from them i really do not want to send it to them just to have them fix it. I have had zero problems with my gun and love it looking to purchase a xd-45 this year once i get money saved up. p.s. can some one post the number and name of a nice person at springfield to contact. I owuld look but just do not have the time right now i have a good buddy in the hospital right now that i am busy with his friends and family. thankfully he is doing better now. Thanks Guys and Gals. and please keep an eye out for motorcycles it is the riding season once again

I'm affraid that due to there no parts for sale insanity you will have to send it to them for fixing. I know it is insane to send it for a part that takes you two minutes to put in but they will tell you that it's for liability issues.

I was curious about turniing something that small and plastic, so I did one after work tonight.
It came out very well, and is hard to distinguish from the original. Send me your address and I'll send you which ever one you want: the original or the one I made (black Delrin). |

I would love to get one of those as well if it's not any trouble for you. I would gladly pay for it. I damaged mine for my SC 9mm the first time I did a complete dissasembley of it while I was trying to put it back in the little screw driver I was using to keep in pressed down while I slid the back cover on kind of dug into it a bit and it doesn't look all that great. I've thought it would be nice if I could get a metal one to replace it before but if that's not possible, any kind would be just great. Maybe you should offer them on a website or something, I bet a lot of people would buy them from you.

I can make one out of bronze for you. The alloy is a very low friction so will work as well as the Delrin or whatever material the stock one is made of. I'll test fit it on my SC-9 too. Send me your address and I'll send one out. What I use when doing assembly is a bamboo skewer that you buy in a bundle at the grocery store. They are the right diameter (for the disassembly) and do not mar anything. |
