how many generation of hs2000/XD has their been??

3rd generation is the current one I do believe.

The HS 2000 had 3 generations. Gen 3 being the same as the XD 9, .357, & .40 with the single accessory cut. The newest models have two accessory cuts. Now we have the larger XD 45 ACP version.
Not to forget about the SC models.

edit. I believe there was actually a Gen 0 military version that has a single trigger sans trigger safety. I think Ajames had a pic of it on his sight.

You may be thinking of the HS-95, but that was an all steel gun.
