First Time out

Well I picked up my new XD9 SC Thursday and finally got a chance to shoot it today. At the 7 yd line the first 25 rounds had very a tight group but it was about 3.5" left of POI. Second 25 rounds same thing. Great groups but just left of where I wanted them. This seemed very odd to me since every XD I have rented was right on the money. When I looked at the sights I noticed one notch on the right of the rear sight but none on the left side. Upon closer inspection it looked like the rear sight was not pushed all the way on like it should have been at the factory. I asked the dudes at the range, which also happens to be in the gun store I bought it at, if it looked funny to them. The guy told me the machine that SA uses sometimes does not press the sight all the way on. He (the store armory) fixed it and I went back out and shot again. This time it was spot on and I had a great time. I love this pistol and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try lots of pistols before I decided on the XD. That plus all the great advice I have received on this forum. Thanks a million everone.

Congrats on the purchase. Good thing you had someone to get the sight centered that had the right tools. The sights on the XD can be tough to move.

Yeah I was glad I asked. The folks at my local shop are good people and did it free of charge.
