When I first starting looking at XD's I thought they were just plain butt ugly. The more I read about them though the better they sounded. I finally had to go to the local pawn shop and hold one. Big mistake! It actually felt pretty darn good. Two days later I decided I was probably making a mistake, but went back and bought a new XD40. My shooting sessions have been short - 50 rounds at a time. After finding the ammo it likes and shooting it enough to get a little bit used to the trigger, this thing really shoots. One failure to feed in the first 10 rounds - perfect every since. I'm only up to 200 rounds and this thing is getting prettier all the time. I still don't like the overall look or the finish, but hey - pretty ain't everything. They really grow on you don't they? (Thinking about buying a 9 SC now.)

You ought to just get a .40 SC...it works out well. I have that setup, and it's nice having 1 kind of ammo to worry about. The .40 SC is very controllable for its size. I shot IDPA practice with my buddies with one.

This happens at bars too. Once you've had a few rounds through you women start to look better.
