Break Free Powder Blast and Xd

Is this break free powder blast okay for the xd. I sprayed it all over the xd slide and the slide become Lighter in color. After ensuring all the powder and dirt was gone, i gave it a good spray of oil.

Is this correct and okay? Is powder blast okay?

Thanks

SK

I haven't tried it but I would assume it is okay to use on the exterior of the XD. I think the Breakfree Powder blast is similar to Gunscrubber, aka Brake cleaner. The lighter color is probably as a result of the oil being washed off the slide. Did the slide return to it's original color after you oiled it?

this is exactly how i clean my XD. however, if there is any stubborn carbon clinging to the weapon...i brush that off with a toothbrush. otherwise...i think this is just fine.

That's how I start cleaning my XD..I spray BreakFree CLP all over it and scrub it with a toothbrush.
