I was quoted a price for an XD40 tactical with 3 12 round clips for $550. Is that to much or is that the going rate? I also would get 2 free trips to the range. What do you guys think? Thanks Andy

I consider it the going rate around me... but ppl on this forum seem to quote prices at VERY LOW compared to where I am located.

Sounds good to me, you might find it cheaper but if they have them in stock I'd bite it. They sure aren't ripping you off any.

You can get one in OD from www.budsgunshop.com for less than $450 shipped. You should be able to find an ffl transfer for $20 or less. That's $80 you can put towards accessories or ammo.

That company (Davidsons) is a distributor to lots of shops. Put in your zip code, and search for the model you want. They will give you prices (including details like shipping rates and tax) to each store in your area. In my case, I placed through their site and got a price $8 better than if I had just walked into the shop. The shop actually recommended I place the order online to save me money.

Different shops will have different prices listed. FYI, the shop I went through has the same price for the XD9 and XD40.

Anyway, here's the breakdown of what I paid:
