Glock 26, 27 and XD compact, 9mm vs. .40

Hey everybody!

I'm trying to decide between and XD9c and XD40c. I'm familiar with shooting both calibers, but not in a compact gun. No local ranges have the XDc's to shoot, but they DO have the Glock 26 and 27. For people with experience with both the Glock 26 and 27 AND the XD compacts, would shooting the Glocks give me a comparable experience to what the XD9c and XD40c feel like?

Thanks for your help

A-man

Similar recoil, but in my opinion the grip angle is different so I think they shoot differently. My wife had a XD9sc and her girlfriend has a G26 I could shoot the XD accurately but could not hit the target very well with the G26. (operator error I know.) I hope this is what you were asking.

I just want to know if the recoil of the Glock 27 is similar to the XD40c, the same for the 26 vs. XD9c, thats all. I don't care for the feel of the Glock at all, I really DO like the feel of the XDc.

I own a 26 and a 27. I would say the recoil is similar. If anything, the XD feels like it sits lower in my hand, so I perceive the recoil to be slightly less in the XD. However, the grip angles and triggers are very different, so I don't think you'd be approximating the XD experience with a Glock.

While I believe that the grip angle plays a part in the service and tactical models of each brand, I find it less an issue with the subs. In fact...for my personal use, I would opt for the Glock!..I know...Blasphemy! :P

where are you located? if you bring the ammo... and maybe a glock to fire, one of the forum members might be able to let you take the XD for a test drive.

what's the gun going to be for? CCW? the added grip safety of the XD makes it pretty nice for that...

I live in Northern Virginia. That would be great to able to shoot a XD compact before I buy. Good Idea!

Yes, I'm thinking about using the compact as CCW.

I have a glock 27 and an XD 40sub. They have the sme recoil IMHO. I shoot both of them well, just different POI.
