Your XDs may be worth more than you think...
Confession/story to follow: I was introduced to Glocks (G22C .40)/ranges about 6 months ago by a Marine Special Forces neighbor/friend of mine (I am 37 years old, husband, father of 2). I have started to get hooked more and more over the last x number of months, and have been reading on glocktalk so I can educate myself and continue to learn. I *was* Glock proud for most of this time. But, I have never, nor do I now think any one gun is the answer for everybody, or that every other gun other than Glocks/XDs are less than worthy.
However, someone posted about the XD's over there, and the posting was logical, well thought out, and simply matter of fact. I started to read about XDs and gather as much data as I could. After all, I only had 1 gun, and who can live with that? So, just yesterday, ordered a XD9 Bitone and it arrived today, but I have yet to pick it up. I paid $519. And no, I'm not crazy (well maybe, but unrelated to this anyway). I could have saved fifty bucks driving across town to get one, but I also wanted to support my gunshop/range, which is new, state of the art, and has an unbelievable shooting facility. So, I will have to adjust my signature line shortly, but wanted to thank you all for good postings, minimal slamming of your fellow firearm owner, and for helping those of us less knowledgeable (but interested) along. Your time and efforts are appreciated. May this trend continue. Cheers, Greg

Well to first to make things quicker though follow the same friendly basic new member welcoming format, lets zip through the formalities and skip the counting of the blessings in each entry:
---------------------------------------------------------------- " Hello are' youa XDfan "? I found myself', quite a bit of information about my first mighty, 9mm 5" that is loaded a #18 spring otherwise, known as light recoil and round which, everyone I know seems to dislike although it is my gentle giant. Lastly, John

Don't feel bad, I paid $525 for my Bi-Tone XD 9mm just a few months ago. Yes, paid more but it is worth EVERY PENNY!
Here is a pic if you need one to dream about until you get yours.

You'll forget all about what you paid after the first 50 or so rounds. Welcome to the board.
