Trigger pull

I've decided to get the trigger pull on my XD Subcompact measured. A local business has a smith with the tools, so I'm going to stop by tomorrow on the way home from work. (Will this do any good on an empty chamber? Trigger pull is never heavy unless she's loaded.)

What's the trigger pull on your XD like?

Maybe it just feels heavier when I'm shooting because of biomechanics? I don't know! All I know is that the pull is much heavier than my untouched-by-gunsmiths BDM. So much so that my first few shots generally drop way down: if I don't think about it, I find myself recruiting hand and wrist muscles to complete the pull. I have to consciously think about squeezing just with the finger.

ETA: I tried dry firing it from the extended firing position. It does feel like a heavier trigger pull. Must be biomechanics.
