Wear on tip of barrel
After about 300 rounds through my new XD I noticed that the muzzle end of the barrel where it was once rounded has started almost flattening from the inside out. So, where the bullet exits is starting to be a slant instead of gently rounded. Is this normal or something I should worry about? I can post pics if that description wasn't clear. Thanks.

I would like to see pictures as I'm always better with pictures than oral descripitons, but if I understand what you're saying, it sounds like the inside of the barrel at the muzzle is beginning to look more oblong than round. If this is the case, I would call Springfield and maybe email them the pictures before shooting any more. If I am misunderstanding what you said, I appologize.

The barrel is not changing shape, it is still perfectly round. It is just the tip that is being worn down. It looks like if you were to take a file and with the muzzle end of the barrel facing up, push the file in at a slight angle. It is just angling off the edge that the bullet touches when it leaves the barrel. I will try to get some pictures tonight if I can get my camera to take something that close.

I think he means the crown is going from a nice rounded edge on the inside, to a straight angle.

Thanks. When you said from the inside out, I thought you were talking about the inside of the barrell. Got a little worried. Pictures would still be nice.

I don't seem to have a macro option on my camera and can't get a good picture. I found this thread http://www.hs2000talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=31420 and in the picture with the DGR installed with the slide closed you can see what I am talking about on that gun. Since I am not the only one I would assume it is normal.
