My XD-40 keeps on ticking along...
Funny, I read all the posts about cracked locking blocks, feed jams, springs breaking and the rust issue, so I am always looking out for these things.
Took the XD-40 Service out yesterday and ran two 100rd boxes of WWB 180 grainers through it. Turned several Coke cans and coffee cans into sieves. Converted an old bird feeder into chunks of worthless plastic as well. No malfunctions whatsoever, shot point-to-aim with a 6-o'clock hold and after 2.5 years, no rust at all and not a sign of locking block cracks after hitting somewhere over the 2000 round mark. As the owner of much more expensive and prestigeous pistols, like Colts, Sigs and a Belgian Hi-Power, I have to say this XD-40 is hanging in there with the more expensive pistols just fine. No complaints. Actually both the Colts gave me alot more troubles in their first 2-3 years than this lowly XD. I was thinking, as the XD45ACP came out, that I might trade this XD-40 for the XD45ACP, but I think I'll keep it and just save my pennies for the XD45ACP some other day. Hard to get rid of a pistol that shoots good and literally give me no troubles at all. Maybe I just got the only good one...I dunno? - Brickboy240

I'm approaching the 2000 round mark with my XD-40 as well. I have had a ton of work done to mine, but it was all optional
So far, I haven't experienced any of the reported "issues" either. *knocks on wood* |

XD40SC
My XD40SC is approaching 5000 rds through it. We went through another 150 rounds of Gold Dot today and it still shoots better than I can. It groups tighter than my XD45ACP (but I've only got about 1000 rounds through that one) and damn near as good as my 1911.
I'm happy with it! |
