Gunscrubber on XD

I'm about to buy gunscrubber to use on my XDs. Anyone have experience with this product? I was told that all the gunk will just run right out, and all the parts will dry cleanly without residue.

What I've been doing until now is using hoppe's 9 on a qtip to clean my receiver.

gunscruber is a great product. It will clean out all the little hard to reach places. Just make sure you lube after because it will leave your weapon bone dry. Make sure you buy the polymer-safe gunscrubber.

Don't forget to use safety glasses to protect your eyes when using gunscrubber. Believe me it's not a pleasant feeling at all

Maybe im a dope but I really havent been that impressed with it so far. I admit that its more than likely user error or maybe just not giving it the fair "college try".

Ive got a bit of it and so Ill finish it before i try another product but its taken a bit more time and effort with fast blast than I would expect with some of the heavier cleaners.

As far as the barrel goes, I use Kleen Bore #10 because for me at least it has worked magic.

I have the line of blue wonder products (you guys have a great set of supporters out here in the form of the F-A-S-T training team). Perhaps after my next range visit, I will scrub the gun down and give it a try using fast blast for the clean, XFR for lubrication, and armadillo for slide protection, maybe give it a fair try.

I like Gunscrubber b/c when it's wet, it really bleeds all the crap out of your guns. After it dries, however, everything becomes a powdery film, which isn't so fun to clean off. It does degrade plastic (though I haven't seen the polymer safe version), and they WARN you about it. Why do I keep it around? Well, it removes oil like nothing else, and there's some parts of certain guns that don't like to be too oily. My chromed HS2K, for example, performs best with a dry slide with a dab of grease on the rails. Generally speaking, I don't want any oil on an extractor. Other guns like my SIG and my AR, like to be a little on the wet side. Too much oil can definitely be a bad thing, and sometimes your guns will "weep" oil after a while, and wind up where you don't want it. Firing pin channels are the first to come to mind. I could get by with just a can of CLP, but my cleaning bag has CLP, Gunscrubber, Hoppes #9 (when you really need to get the fouling out), and Tetra grease. I find they all fill a different role.

YMMV,

B9

You can get Non-Chlorintaed Brake Parts Cleaner at Wally World for like $1.99 a can (a BIG can). It's very similar chemically... and does the trick.

Been using it for a couple years on all my pistols (Kimbers, Glocks, and now an XD)
