Price differences between XD-9SC's?
I was in gander mountain yesterday window shopping at the handgun counter and noticed two XD-9 subcompacts. One was on clearance for $499 and the other was regular price for $469. I asked the gentlman behind the counter if there was a reason for the price difference or if they were not marked right. I figured one was a diffferent model year or had the holster kit (if its even available for the SC). He informed me that "they were not the same and that there was a difference in the triggers". And that "Springfield makes a couple different trigger options on the XD series." He started looking at the triggers and I let him know that I wasn't interested in them, just wondered why they were different prices and in the event that one had a wrong price they could correct it. I went on my way since I didn't have my hip boots with me. It sure felt like it was getting deep in there.
Any idea why they would be different prices? I'm not an XD expert but they appeared the same. Both had the same sights, both were definately 9mm and both were brand new. |

Unless they're ordering & stocking custom triggered SCs, I think he's full of crap. If I had to guess, I'd say that one comes with the XD Gear kit and the other does not AND the guns are identical.

Gander has a deal on one with a light for $499. That is probably what you found.

No one ever said that you had to be knowledgeable to work in retail. But really one might be the old pricing while the other one is the new pricing since S.A. had a price increase a while back.

The people at the Gander in Sugar Land are very helpful. It's like a second home to me.
