Silocon gun cloths

Anyone use the silocon gun cloths for wiping down your xd to help prevent rusting. I use these on my other guns with good results after using them before I put them away. Id rather use these as to havin oil on the outside of my gun. Thanks for the time on this question.

I use the silicon regularly and apply oil every once in a while then just wipe it off.

The silicon works great. I find if you fold them up and put them in a tiny ziplock baggie, they will not dry up as quickly Ive had one goin on a month now.

+1, Mine came in a cleaning kit but It's folded and zip locked. Had it over a month and no signs of drying out.

Use to use one all the time, ziplocked it and all. But found the RIG-RAG to be easier to use. It's like a sheepskin that you apply the RIG grease into and it is so much easier to get into all the nooks and crannys. Still have not seen any signs of the _ust word since 8/05. Between the 40's and 9's I've got to be closing in on 2000 rounds if not passed it already.

I use a combination of the silicone cloth and RemOil in the spray can. A winning combo (for me anyways).

I have used silicone-treated gun cloths for years. Some of them have been used until they had holes in them. They protect reasonably well, the stuff does not migrate into ammo and kill it, and firearms so treated don't collect dirt.

You can re-oil your silicone cloth with any one of the commercial silicone bearing spray lubes. Just take it outside and spray it until wet. Let it partially dry and stick it in a plastic bag. If they get dirty, wash them and respray.

I have used one of those cloths for over 5 years. Kept it in its zip lock bag and NEVER got rust on the gun. Best thing I have ever found for wiping finger prints off the metal.
