I finally did it, XD 40 Bi Tone is on the way

When i began the search for my first handgun purchase and my 2nd firearm overall (remington 870), i knew very little about the different makes and models of handguns.

But over the last few weeks i have spent many many hours scouring the net reading, going to gun shops and looking for deals on the trading posts of about 5 sights. (hs2000talk.com, glocktalk.com, ar15.com thefireingline.com sigforum.com and im pretty sure there are a few others.

A buddy of mine has the xd40 tactical, which i fell in love with the moment i shot it. But this was the only semi-automatic i have ever shot, so i had to compare it to some others. So i tried a few glocks, a few sigs, and ultimately i decided to buy a "Croation Sensation" in 40sw, because i liek the stopping power of the 40, and i like the fact that i can buy a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm if i want to.

So now that i have finally decided on an XD, where should i get one.
SHould i get new or used?
And this is where the whole warranty on first owner thing started to cause problems. After conflicting emails from Springfield about the warranty, i finally came to the conclusion that they would offer the lifetime warranty on a second hand gun. I wish i would have made up my mind on this issue a few days earlier than i did, because i missed out on some great deals from members on this forum (but it ended up costing HOOZ alot more money http://hs2000talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=34436 because i turned down his gun because i was afraid i would not be covered on the warranty)

But now i am not so mad at myself for missing out on these deals, because i deep down really wanted the bi tone. I know it was supposed to cost a little more money, but this is a gun i will never sell, and since it is my first i might as well go all out. Dont wanna have any regrets.

So i just wanna say thank you to everyone on this board that has put up with all my PITA questions, and thank you for talking me out of buying a used bitone for $430.

So anyways, like i said i was looking for a bitone xd 40. I was willing to pay $500 for one, since that is what they were gonna cost on most of the websites i checked (after ffl fees and shipping) But in the last few days no body had them in stock.... until i called Buds Gun shop this morning.

Gave them a call and asked if they had any in stock, and i was shocked to have them tell my they had one left. A New xd40 service bitone just waiting for me to buy. It is not the 2006 package, but that is ok, the "gear" is no big deal from what i have read. But it does come with 2 HC mags, box and lock for $410.

So after shipping and my ffl fees, I paid $450. I am extremely happy with this price, dont know if i could have found a better deal.

Ok sorry for such a long post, i am just so giddy now, and anxious to get my new baby.

Sounds like a real good deal to me, I paid slightly more a couple months ago for my 2005 package XD 9 service. Congrats on the purchase.
